Well I took 1st in my first tournament with my army and I ran two and have taken second in three other ones. Don't believe everything you read on the internet, I absolutely love mine and they have done great things for me.

I heard it from my friends who play frequently, but like I said, its what I heard, not what I experienced. How useful is it exactly?

Its a fast moving transport thats armed to the teeth, great for getting your squad to where they need to be and capable of deliving large amounts of fire support. It can carry a dread and a squad and both of them have the ability to assault after disembarking. It has a machine spirit so it can move flat out and fire one of its weapons. So pretty useful.
