I painted this last month when it was raining a lot, but recently it's been raining again so I thought it's about time I posted this

It's fun to paint cute characters like this from time to time. Also for this painting I tried making the background a little softer and impressionistic, so it was fun trying that out.

Sometimes I really get stuck refining the heck out of things and it's good to be able to keep things a little loose for a change

Done in Photoshop CS6 with me intuos pro. Took around 12 hours, over the course of a few days.
I used a few references for the BG. Textures from: www.textures.com/
