Hey thanks! With the simplest explanation, the trees are tree stamp brushes I created from some photographs I took. Then I covered the tree with leafs using different photos of dense clusters of leafs, I may have used blending modes but can't remember if I did. Last I went through and painted in extra leafs and branches manually to create the specific forms I wanted. Thanks for the question, hope this helps!

it's not evident at first, but it seems a massive amount of work went into this picture.
I originally saw this on the electronic song that uses your picture as the background, and fell instantly in love with it, and is now currently residing as my wallpaper
