Description
I was hoping to have this done more around the middle of the week, but I became busy. Part of returning to school, I suppose. But, I *DID* manage to get it up in time for Halloween, so at least there's that. This is also the seventh consecutive Halloween piece I've done, which I can't say for any other holiday.
This is the fifth time my theme has been to just take regular young women and put them in Halloween costumes. It's a setup I enjoy, and I have tons of options for it. So, I don't see myself changing that for any future Halloween.
Now, the first girl I have here decided to dress up as
's
Pulsar Pureheart.
I also wound up borrowing the pose from that particular picture. I didn't intend to, I just meant to use the outfit, but really I thought the pose was perfect for this. My backstory here is she came across his gallery one day and thought "That would make a good Halloween costume." And she proceeded to make one up. That's why I modified it a little to make it look more home made. You can see the stitch marks, and how it's not quite as form fitting as the original.
Next I have the Starfleet Officer. Of these three costumes, I wanted one to have a leotard/bodysuit getup, another to be in some kind of very form-fitting pants, and another to be in a very short skirt or dress. Originally, I was thinking an Elven archer sort of costume. But, I've been watching a lot of Star Trek lately. So, I couldn't resist this. I can tell from how I normally draw my women that her skirt is like an inch long enough to cover everything that needs to be covered. I think if she so much as walked, you'd get a peek at her undies. I didn't quite mean it to be that short, it was just something I realized when I looked at the final product. The messed up thing is that even that short a skirt is only a very SLIGHT exaggeration of how those skirts were in the Original Series. Yay, 1960s!
And then we have my hippie girl. This was the first costume I committed to. Because of that, there's really not as much to talk about here. But it was a fun costume to do all the same.
So, another Halloween is here. After it's over, comes the great tradition of everyone complaining about how Christmas is being advertised so soon! Because any store in America that doesn't ALREADY have a Christmas section set up probably will by Monday. I personally don't like to do any Christmas-themed pieces until at least after Thanksgiving. And hopefully I can get one or two more drawings up in between. Depends how busy my classes keep me this month!
