I've been in an artistic funk lately. I want to do more comics, but I can't write a story to save my life. I've got the desire to create something, I just don't have anything worth creating. I've been killing time with drawings like these instead writing. I dunno, I've been told this is good practice and all, but it's not exactly what I want to be doing, you know? Damn artistic funks...Anyway, here's my progress on a work in progress that I started last year. As you can see, I've made progress, but it's a slow progression... Her skirt and the details on her shirt are going to be a pain in the ass, so I've been procrastinating. I'ma finish it one of these days.
I'm using a photo reference for this pic. The photo used to be posted on her MySpace page, but it isn't there anymore.

Wow! Your shading skills are absolutely amazing! Graphite happens to be my favorite medium, but I can't do anything half as beautiful as this. I can't wait to seethe finished product!

Easily this can be done in most art programs, turning a picture into a portrait sketch. This style differs from your other work. I honestly don't believe you did this. ^_^

It is really obvious that he did it by hand. If you look at the sketch lines. And plus, it is a little off from the original photograph.

This is extremely impressive, man. Her hair looks fuckin' stunning. You might want to slim down the line defining her chin, though. Looks a bit fuzzy. Like you chose a line, but shaded a bit outside it.

I like the idea behind it (or at least what I'm gathering the idea is).
A realistic rendering blown out of reality with extereme angle.
I'm just having crazy ideas in mind... what if you applied the same
technique and did your own rendering of a Fantastic 4 comicbook cover.
That would look totally FREAKY!!!

Dude, if you could get Jessica Alba to pose for me, I'd draw all the Fantastic 4 you wanted. On the whole, I'm not a big american comic fan though.
As far as the pic goes, it's actually pretty close to the photo. I'm not at the point where I can just make pics like this up from my head yet...

LoL, I know. I'm not a comicbook fan at all. I just thought it would be a sweet "in-your-face" work for all those Marvel executives.
