Description Where I live, the New Year brought along with is a fresh layer of snow! So I felt that now is a good time to upload this landscape too!

Same for me, finally snow. This looks fantastic! Do you have any tips for me on painting backgrounds? I still struggle a lot with them

I painted this from reference, but without reference certain landscapes can be much trickier for me.

There's lots of way to learn, I started off by doing a 50 Landscape challenge - I got 50 photos to draw from, and I drew them all. It took ages but it was worth it! I got much better at Landscapes from there on.

Bob Ross is also amazing with landscapes

But there a loads of books on lighting and colour, composition and layout, perspective and background elements. It's best to be open to doing lots of bad drawings first before the good ones come in, but in the beginning a few good ones will still manage their way in ^^

It might help loads! I did the same recently with speedpainting portraits, I did 30 in a row, and I improved rapidly
