What can I say? It's a so-called "flat earth" basemap, based on the hypothetical model. More accurately known as an Azimuthal Equidistant projection of the world, centered on the North Pole.
Easter eggs: The sun and the moon are on the map. As it turns out, 32 miles in diameter barely fills up a pixel.

If you do, please explain how lunar eclipses work. Or the Coriolis effect being in the opposite direction in the Southern Hemisphere as the Northern Hemisphere. Or especially why the elite across history would somehow put aside all their differences and emnities to collaborate together, just to cover up something so all-encompassing, and yet so... useless.
