So, I decided to give 's Summer Fanart Contest a go! Despite my insane schedule. I'm surprised I even (barely) managed to finish this orz. The theme was cultural foods, so I went with sweets and desserts because I knew looking for reference pictures would melt my brain. ♥

And so, without further ado, the list! And yes, these were mostly internet-found, so apologies for any mistakes!
Russia: Medovik【Медовик】(Honey layer cake)
America: Donuts
Canada: Nanaimo bar (Bar cookie with butter icing)
England: Scones with jam and cream
Italy: Cannoli (Pastry with sweet, usually ricotta, filling)
Japan: Dango【団子】(Rice flour dumplings)
China: Tián ǒu【甜藕】(Sweet lotus roots stuffed with rice)
France: Poire belle-Hélène (Pears poached in syrup)
Germany: Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black Forest cake)

Yeahhh, I picked these really arbitrarily. I'm not sure if 'medovnik' is the correct transliteration but it's all I found, and I can't remember what China's stuffed lotus roots were actually called (but I did eat them a lot in Shanghai, so they are real! And sweet and delicious). Edit: I think I've got all the names right now. I think.

Also, considering cannoli originated in Sicily, it probably would've been better to have Romano there, but...

As a completely random comment, it felt nice to draw England with not-burnt scones. :'D

In any case, all the slip-ups and technicalities aside, I hope this picture does the world's foods a tiny bit of justice! m(_ _)m ♥
