“Have you ever place a mirror in front of another mirror? Have you ever asked why you can see thousands of mirrors and thousands of people similar to you? The answer is simple: they are you, but in different worlds, because the mirror is the gate to enter to those worlds. Fortunately or not, humanity haven’t found a way to enter. Just like in our world, in the Pokemon world the same happens: there exists thousands of Pokemon worlds, and this is the story of one of them…”

Back in the day, in 2004-2005, more or less the same time I started my own fanfic, my cousin back then named “Lord Sesshoumaru” and myself, started a Pokemon fanfic (Spanish only). It was… different.

The main protagonist of the story is May (and Ash). May back then had 10-11 years old, while Ash was 13. Of course, THIS May (the one in the pic) is an adult now, 18-19 years old, so of course she didn’t look like this. It was an “origin” story, where Ash, who have traveled though some regions, came to Hoenn to start his adventure there, and May joined. Sound similar to the normal Pokemon anime, right? There was a difference.

Pokeballs and its derivatives doesn’t exist… at least not that much.

Instead, in this world, magic exist, and only a few people are able to access it. They use a magic staff to “seal” the Pokemon they find and transform it into cards, which they can use later to summon them and fight against other Trainers or wild Pokemons. Also, they aren’t called Trainers, but instead they are called PokeCaptors.

The name of the fanfic?

It was a weird fanfic, and very bad redacted. I mean, supposedly, PokeCaptors in that world are very rare, as not anyone can access magic. And yet, we write it like in every city there are stores as big as Pokemon Centers who sells stuff only for PokeCaptors. Doesn’t make that much sense, so I retconed that humans and pokemons can get close, but only like a mascot in the real world, with normal humans not being able to capture them, as Pokeballs doesn’t exist (although, the Pokeball logo is still used)

Also, the fic was VERY Advanceshippy (we both like that pairing… even if my cousin HATED Ash… but he and I hated Drew WAY more, so that’s why we made the fanfic Advanceshippy… also Drew is dead, or never existed in this world, so meh), and it speak so much about May’s feelings for Ash. It was kind of cringe, now that I read it again.

So, before I explain a little of the story of the fanfic, I’ll show you some info from THIS May:

My cousin and I never finished the fanfic, and never dust off many of the ideas we had. Because of that, I’ll have to retcon some stuff of it. However, since it was a Spanish only fanfic, I doubt any of you have read it, so… here is the story (will probably add a few of the Solar Girls Lore in it too)

I changed SO MUCH from the fanfic we wrote back then:

-Instead of Team Magma and Aqua like in the original, it’s Team Rocket who is causing problems, having beaten Magma and Aqua and took control of Hoenn.
-Latios, Latias brother, helped May and became a companion, named Lorenzo when in human form, while Latias took the name Bianca when in human form.
-May had another legendary: Mew. I decided against it, as 2 Legendaries will be too much.
-PokeCaptors in the original used a device called AC-Reader, that allows them to power up their Pokemon using cards, an idea similar to the one used in Digimon Tamers. I decided to take it out of this story.
-Loved the idea of the Pokeball being an invention for EVIL, as only Team Rocket have produced them en masse for capturing Pokemon. In the world of PCCMay, having a Pokemon inside a Pokeball is the same as enslaving it, as they are being brainwashed. If one of their world go into the normal Pokemon world, they’ll be so confused and angry. Still, the Pokeball logo is still the logo of the world, as that is an emblem thar represent the whole Pokemon World.

Well, that was the story of PokeCard Captor May, and how she became a Solar Girl too. Boy, me and my cousin had so much fun writing the fic (at least before we stopped because of stuff). Since a friend of mine reminded me of the fanfic, I decided to revive those characters and making them Solar Girls… yeah, not only May will be a Solar Girl. Latias and Flannery will probably follow…

Also this will gave me an excuse to add Pokemon characters to the Solar Girls //shot

Who should I make a PokeCaptor and add to the Solar Girls? Dawn? Serena? Whitney? I’ll think about it

Anyway, hope you like my version of adult May, and the story I write for her (I REALLY want to write a fanfic… but my hands can’t write that much these days…)
