Inspector Javert and Jean Valjean from Victor Hugo's Les MisΓ©rables as depicted in Roommates.As an enormous Les Mis fanatic, I've been absolutely delighted by the recent events of *AsheRhyder 's fabulous massively multiplayer crossover webcomic Roommates, particularly the latest strips (167 & 168 at time of typing).
These have inspired me to touch up and post a sketch from a short while back of my attempt at rendering Rhyder's lovely versions of our favorite Frenchmen.

Great shading! Javert looks ever watchful, waiting for Valjean to start something, and Valjean looks onwards, possibly to the future.

Occasionally I just do random searches for the characters and see what comes up. I clicked this one out of curiosity, because there's really not enough with them out there, and that was when it all started (and you probably started to receive an influx of my ongoing commentary about how wonderfully you do expressions).
Incidentally, because of your design I find myself fighting the urge to give Javert bangs...

Hmm, I started to read that comic at some point but never got to the end, maybe I should try again some day... These versions of them look great though!

I love it, and reread it every so often. The jokes and references are generally hilarious, the evolution of the artistic style is interesting, and I notice new things that I didn't get the first time almost every time I read it.
And it's ruled by the power of Fanservice, so...

Hm. You keep saying you like to recieve constructive criticism but that's hard to do because I have such a hard time finding errors in your stuff!
Literally the only off things I can find are a few white pixels remaining around Javert's boots. XD

Constructive criticism is really the most useful comments I can get, but any sort of specific feedback is nice. If there's any particular element of a piece that strikes you as cool, interesting, confusing or anything, I'd like to know. I'm sort of flinging stuff into the abyss here, so I like to know what people think.
Ah, yes, the stupid outlines. That's a Photoshop issue that I've been too lazy to properly fix. I usually fudge it with blur and ignore it... The smaller file sizes that I upload hide those mistakes a bit too.
