Description A ninth page of Les MisΓ©rables sketches. The three with text are Javert-centric moments from the novel that I'm particularly fond of.

The first two are from the Gorbeau house robbery attempt "Don't do and shoot. It'll misfire," and "Would you like my hat?" The other is from his conversation in the police station with Marius just before the robbery: "Damn, I've singed my coat. They always make these infernal stoves too hot."

Hey, look, ThΓ©nardier makes an appearance! I don't only draw Javert...

First I gotta say: Javert's face for the "Would you like my hat?" line is sex.

Secondly, Javert has so many lol moments it's a crime how people miss them. Especially the coattails line - it's so utterly random it makes me love him even more.

Also, I adore your Javert's bangs and sideburns. They're just so . . . right. Wonderful job!

Haha, wow, not my intention, but I see where you're coming from there.

I know! Honestly, everyone seems to forget (or have never bothered to learn) how awesome Javert really is. It's his little quirks as much as his grand gestures that endear him to me, like the coattails and fiddling and talking to himself.

Thanks! It took me ages to work out just the right design for his bushy mutton-chops.

DAMN! Who'd dare shoot Javert?!
o.k. um...uh...constructive criticism-here goes nothing
GOD this is HARD! O.K.-...uh, you did really good job on the perspectives (different angles of Javert). I CAN"T FIND MUCH TO PICK AT! You need to draw worse-then I could critique better. Javert's facial proportions are a little bit off. The eyes are a little bit too close and the eyebrow extends too far. Obviously you're really good at sketching, so I guess if you wanted to make your sketches you could emphasize the shading more and add more colors?

ThΓ©nardier dared to try, the idiot. It didn't work.

... Sorry? I really appreciate the attempts at con. crit. in spite of difficulties. Thanks!

XD The 'Would you like my hat?' was one of my favorite scenes in the book. Great job *wishes she could draw*

The defining moment of Javert's awesomeness, in my opinion. Everyone seems to see his watered-down stereotype and forget how fabulous he really is.

Nobody realizes his awesomeness! It's so tragic...

These are excellent! I love the "Would you like my hat?" one--one of my favorite scenes in the book.
I don't think my family expected me to be laughing while reading Les Miserables...

Just walking around with the book warranted me some very odd looks.

I scared my Physics instructor with it once. She wasn't terribly fond of enormous books.

Second that motion! I really confused my family by bursting out laughing while reading Les Mis.
