Sorry for the late reply, because I don't frequent DA. I use snaps to attach all the armor to my plugsuit.

Whoa, this is super useful! I am absolutely awful with anything that ventures outside fabric and the sewing machine, so this helps a lot for when I venture into my first armor projects!
So I take it this particular product is safe to put in an oven that you bake food in since you were putting it on woks and such? I'm asking, because I don't have a designated oven for art things and I'd probably just be using the big oven I have in my home. I don't want to accidentally poison my food when I bake things, haha.

Yay I'm glad to make something useful! The oven and the wok were used JUST for art projects. They both came from Goodwill, so cheap enough. I'm not sure if they are safe to use for food after that and will just avoid them.

This ... is freaking amazing, and I can't tell you how much I love you for this XD But what is this 'expanded PVC' you speak of, and where can I get it? I know of PVC pipe, and PVC material, but it's very obviously not either of those. I'd love to use this technique on a costume I'll be making later this year, and this way is going to be SO FREAKING cheaper than the route I was gonna go.

I ordered it from a local plastic shop. You might see if there are any plastic shops in your area and call/check website to see what they have. It's definitely cheaper compared to like, Worbla or Wonderflex.

Ah, so it's a form of plastic? That's really cool. And yeah I'll check out some places around me and see if I can find any ... is there anything specific I should ask for? Or is it just 'expanded pvc'? And yeah, I've never been able to work with either of those cuz I just can't bring myself to spend that much on them >_>
and sorry for all the questions X3

It's just called "expanded PVC" as far as I know. I think "Sintra" is a brand name or other name for it.
Here's the site for the shop where we ordered it:

Actually they list several brand names, but "expanded PVC sheet" would be the generic term, I guess.

Awesome, thanks so much!
And yeah that is a lot cheaper than wonderflex or worbla ... I just wish they had smaller sheets, I don't need a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet >_>

Awesome! Thanks for the tutorial. I've heard good things about this material, so I called up a bunch of local sign shops and got a HUGE sheet of it for free (it's as high as the ceiling!). So I can't wait to start a project with it.
