It's not easy growing up in this day and age- or any age for that matter- you're by no means the only one.
Biblically, it is better to be humble and selfless than to have pride and excessively high levels of self esteem. But I've learnt that there is a difference between humbleness of heart and total depression/ self-hate.
Jesus said: 'They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.' ^ ^ (Mark 2:17)
