Description this is a copic based palette for photoshop, the colours are named and numbered as their closest equivalent copic marker would be.
The work that went into naming it and making the palettes was all mine and quite tedious as well.

I DO NOT OWN COPIC NOR DO I CLAIM TO, THIS IS ONLY BASED ON THEIR FREELY AVAILABLE COLOUR CHARTS.

Please link this as many times and in as many places as you like. This is a useful set of colours and there just aren't enough colour sets out there for download.
About giving me credit for redistribution- don't worry too much about it, pop in a link over to my dA if you want to. There is no CC-license option to say do what you like I don't really mind or care.

To use:
Extract the .zip into your c:/program files/adobe/photoshop/presets/color swatches folder, or where ever you have photoshop installed.

The colours are organized by family as well as all grouped together into one pallet. Again straight white and straight black are included for convenience.
Hopefully one day Photoshop will come out with a version that allows for opacity to be linked to the colours.

For the best results in emulating markers I strongly suggest looking at all 4 parts of this great tutorial by buttercupbabyppg.

I sort of have a problem.
I can install them and everything is good, but upon opening some of them my PSE 6 simply, crashes. I can open some, but others just crash.
Is there any apparent fix? I don't really need the colors anyway, but it would be cool to have them.

I don't know. I don't work in painter, but I'm sure there's any number of marker emulation tutorials. This palette is simply a selection of colours based on the colours available for copics, and aren't necessarily limited to marker emulation.

But how do I access it?

o0Katriana0o In reply to American-poet [2009-01-04 02:46:35 +0000 UTC]

I'm using CS2, but I'm assuming that the palette is the same. In your palette of colour swatches there should be above it a grey bar that says "swatches" Look to the right of that and you'll find a small button with a triangle pointing right, click on it and a bunch of options will show up. Just go down on the list to the ones marked copic.

Also it won't work if the files are still zipped.

Embittered-Passions [2008-08-18 09:20:13 +0000 UTC]

I'm so sorry it was pulled, my friend and I thought it might have been Copic that complained and asked you to take it down.

I can't believe that they just took it down because of "Art theft or no permission" which is completely ridiculous since it was a freaking palette and not the markers themselves or a piece of art work at all, it's like going to home depot and being told "oh no you can't take the color chart with you because you might find the color in another place" WTF?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gatogirl12345 In reply to Embittered-Passions [2008-08-19 15:37:56 +0000 UTC]

That could have very well be. A defense could be like, this is based on the web colors, not the markers themselves so it could be a bit different. It could have been COPIC and a sense of exclusivity which is unfortunate.

o0Katriana0o In reply to gatogirl12345 [2008-08-19 20:16:27 +0000 UTC]

I believe I've sufficiently covered my butt this time, and there should be no further problems.

Like I've said, there's no way I expected or could have forseen enough people wanting the palette or it getting as popular as it did.

But.
Now that you mention colour charts... I DO have a giant colour fan that I got from the hardware store... I wonder if I have time to scan and convert about 1600 colours....

Oh, boy...even more work...

Btw, I talked to the GD that gave the DD to you. Had no idea and actually didn't bother that you made a new version.

gatogirl12345 [2008-08-14 16:16:41 +0000 UTC]

Awwww, but you had a DD on the last one...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

o0Katriana0o In reply to gatogirl12345 [2008-08-14 20:48:28 +0000 UTC]

I haven't even checked in on my dA page in so long- I only managed to get back about a week after the first one got yanked, so I didn't even know about the DD or get to see many of the comments on it.

No the irony of the situation is not lost on me.

gatogirl12345 In reply to o0Katriana0o [2008-08-14 21:01:54 +0000 UTC]

What do you mean it got yanked?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

o0Katriana0o In reply to gatogirl12345 [2008-08-14 21:22:59 +0000 UTC]

"Art theft or no permission" or some such nonsense like that. According to the time stamps on the notes there was all of 8 seconds between being notified it was up for review and then it getting pulled.
I'm not sure what "copyrighted content" they thought I included that qualified it to get pulled.
Hopefully this time I've made it perfectly clear this time that the copic chart was only the basis for the naming of these swatches.

gatogirl12345 In reply to o0Katriana0o [2008-08-14 21:33:51 +0000 UTC]

I got something pulled but it was 2 hours but I wasn't checking it out even though the site was opened for me.

That is totally weird considering that you got a DD earlier. I wish they could pull it back. That is very strange.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

o0Katriana0o In reply to gatogirl12345 [2008-08-14 21:45:46 +0000 UTC]

Hopefully now that I've included a more open redistribution policy and I'm encouraging more people to share it now it'll stay alive long beyond my lifespan on dA.

Really I didn't expect it to be so popular, but since it was that means there's clearly a demand for it. I'm not letting the work I put into this go to waste.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gatogirl12345 In reply to o0Katriana0o [2008-08-14 22:10:03 +0000 UTC]

And of course it's not wasted.

In that case, we could distribute ours to other sites and such...like photoshopbrushes.com and such...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

o0Katriana0o In reply to gatogirl12345 [2008-08-15 02:59:59 +0000 UTC]

Well I'll just wait and see what happens here- I'm willing to wait and see if this place is worth a second try since it is a pretty good way to distribute. But if I come back a few months down the road and this one is gone too I'm going to put it up on every free resource site I can find.

Somehow I get the feeling it being reported in the first place had to do with the fact it got a DD. I wish I'd managed to see the comments first though, I'd hate to think I missed any drama on my own page.

gatogirl12345 In reply to o0Katriana0o [2008-08-15 03:49:22 +0000 UTC]

You could have talked with the Help Desk and tell them, what the heck. It could just be the picture you used. I had also something taken away too.

They gave you a DD. It means that they admire your work and it's part of what the admins and GD shows was dA represents and what if offers. Seriously, tell the GD who awarded it. I think the GD will be shocked.

Reported because of a DD? Doesn't sound like dA at all too me. The only thing I could think of that someone was jealous so they reported the image you used. And seen how is was done fast, it means they went over too too quick

And personally, whether dA or not, I think you should begin to redistribute it to tons of sites. I already began by distributing elsewhere on another site.

ah well, this mix of blobs I'm using can't be anything but original.
I'll have to fire up photoshop more and actually complete some of my marker emulated drawings I've done with this palette and use one of them as a thumbnail. Once I'm not so busy with work and all, life is craaaazy!

gatogirl12345 In reply to o0Katriana0o [2008-08-16 02:59:18 +0000 UTC]
