Description More boredom during Art History made this. I had a story in my head of a woman who wanted a traditional birth at home, and the husband just trying to be there for his wife....

This is apparently my most popular art here at DA. Which is strange to me, since it's just pencil and paper. And was done over two years ago.

I had a phase where I was obsessed with pregnant women. Many didn't make it beyond scribbles and sketches, but this one got a husband/lover and a little emotion, though not much. I have really no explination as to why I had such a phase.

But I was congruently working on a Harry Potter fanfic, which had to do with a character having a child and the impact that would have on the people around her. So maybe that is the explination. As the case is, I'm confounded as to why everyone looks at this picture. Is it because of my bleh lines? Or the apparent slab that the woman is giving birth on? Or the lack of color? I do not know. If people would comment as to why they looked, that might help me understand the minds of people that view this picture. And maybe why they don't view the crazy color pictures of some of my other posts.

hahahaha!

um, well, i think it's still posted. i took it down nearly everywhere cause i kept running into issues finishing the storyline, so i'd take it down, rewrite it, post it... i still have it on my harddrive. i check it out when i'm really bored and analyze and critique my awful writing. i was 13 to 16 when i wrote it. people that age shouldn't write. it's just not good for the interblags.

lol, interblags? okaaaay...

As for the writing at that age, I'm 15 and I don't think very little of my writing now (though looking back on my work when I was about 12 is WRETCHED and I thought it was good then too). But I have the same problem with not finishing then rewriting months later and nont finishing again. What really helps is storyboarding; I plan out the whole fic without actually writing it, and then when it does come to writing it it makes it so much easier. Trust me; I'm quickly on my way to actually finishing a fic (over one chapter) for the first time ever because of it.

BUT, if you ever do decide to rewrite it again, lemme know and I'll be happy to read Perhaps, if you have time, you'd take a look at my stuff as well?

Much thanks

interblags - reference to xkcd.com, the best webcomic on earth.

Yeah, when I was around 15 I went back and reread my fics from when I was 12. I felt they were terrible and that I had improved immensely. However, multiply that by about a hundred because that's how much you can improve just by finishing high school and getting through college. I now read my stuff from when I was 15 and feel utterly silly for posting online for others to read. Ignoring the blatent Mary-sueism that I and more every other teenager so easily write, grammar, vocabulary and basic skills develop to create a well rounded, well written story. Teenagers use different parts of the brain than adults, and because of that stories posted online can be pretty obvious when the author is 16 rather than 25.

If I had time to draw or even think I would totally read your stuff and provide some pretty good feedback, but I don't have time to even sleep. I work nearly full time and i'm a full time student and a private and uppity university. And I'm working part time in my design field. There aren't enough hours in the day.

What fandoms do you work in? I assume Harry potter, but that seems to be a starting point for most people. I started in cardcaptor sakura, then went to harry potter and then star wars, star trek, and billions of others.

(@ university): WOW! Private AND uppity! very nice! I can understand your lack of thinkging-time!

Right now I'm pretty limited to Harry Potter, but since my plots are original I've been trying to take the same concept and make it into something non-harry potter. Plus I'm trying to bully myself into starting a Twilight fic as well, but I can't seem to bring myself to do it.

Plus, I totally get what you mean about the college ed and whatnot. I want to get a degree in English Literature, and then look into acting and writing and stuff like that.
