you know those gemling pictures of yours? I noticed you make the bodies smaller and stuff but....if I were you I would try to change some facial features such as...make rounder chubbier cheeks, or put different hairstyles, something to make the gemlings a bit more...child like.Β
sorry I just mean it as constructive criticism, I like the pictures I just think it would help.

No, you're dead right. I've looked back and thought I could have done better with some of them myself. Especially Yellow Diamond and possibly Jasper. Maybe I'll redo a couple when I have free time.
I really want to thank you for taking such an interest in improving my work. I drew a picture last night and wondering what your helpful words were going to be. It made me look at elements that I would have normally let slide. Overall just the pencil version was better for it. More dynamic and truer to its reference is all I can say for now.Β

I would suggest working on the diamond's especially. Please don't take offense but some of them just look like shorter versions of themselves and while that is cute, it might help get the gemling vibe if you make some facial and hair changes. It might help to look at other people's fanart as you may get a reference of how others work and create your own style from there.

Yeah, like I did with my and my Mom's diamondsonas. I'll try just using those plus some general tips from an animation book I got when I was a teen.

It looks nice, see? the hairstyle does make a difference and the rounder face does help, I would make the cheeks a tad chubbier but the start it's really good. Also It always helps to use different outfits, like...something a bit more childish like a tiny dress or something puffy or simpler.

well the face it self doesn't have to be rounded but think of how kids have different shapes on their cheeks when they are young like the shape of the face is not yet deffinitive because they are constantly growing.Β Also nice!
