If We Could ForgetWhat would happen if you let us go,
Would we get lost in the frustration,
What would have happened if I had heard no,
Tides turning within incarceration,
Remorse for all our time together,
Feeling like just another memory,
Getting lost just to feel so much better,
Martyrdom is making me feel so sorry,
But There we are, So far away from reason,
Every shot we took felt like just another excuse,
Welts building up one over another,
Blows being traded to hide our sad reality,
What would happen if we could forget,
Could our consciousness leave us so simply,
But a fall from grace is what would be last,
All we do is think about all our time past,
Creatures don’t feel all this inner turmoil,
I wish at times I could be plain as a foil,
I hope that we could pierce through all of this,
But it looks like our nightmares have turned,
And dreams are now becoming our true bliss,
But There we are, So far away from reason,
Every shot we took felt like just another excuse,
Welts building up one over another,
Blows being traded to hide our sad reality,
What would happen if we could forget,
Could our consciousness leave us so simply,
And I feel so strange inside of myself,
Content yet longing for a single last chance,
I think it’s time to put this all back onto the shelf,
We’ve had our last kiss, and our last dance.
