I can fight too!I enjoy 'girl battle themes' in RPGs, there's actually quite a few of them. Enjoy them because I AM SO MANLY, OF COURSE.
Sure, it's condescending that they have to be all cutesy half of the time, as if a woman couldn't have a normal battle theme, but when they strike a certain balance and sound like a normal battle theme while still being cute, I think they're great.
I love the little drum beat in Jenna's, it makes the song sound like it's staggering. It conjures the image of a little skip-step, or the use of fancy footwork! 8D

And Dark Dawn is much the same in terms of clothes, who was more revealing in that? Aside from the enemies.

It definitely goes into cute territory, though. The way it starts out with the jaunty little beat and ding ding ding-ing. But the rest of the song after that part is not cute, as you say. Puuuuurfect.

I'm not denying that there are cute aspects to it, just saying I've heard cuter and that this one isn't completely cute.
You seem to be a fellow fan of video game music. My favorite composers are Daisuke Ishiwatari, Motoi Sakuraba, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Jun Senoue.

I was so bad at Guilty Gear, lols. Wasn't most it's soundtrack random, thrashing Metal though? <.> And I have yet to play my Blazblue. Which I'll apparently be good at if Spoony's word is any indication of how it plays. Yay simple button pushes!

No, not thrash metal, thrash sounds completely different. Some of it is Heavy Rock, some of it is Metal, some is Melodic Metal (very sophisticated metal, nearly orchestrated). Stuff like "Sheep Will Sleep if You Become Fatigued" (GG), "The Re-coming" (GG), and "Rebellion" (BB) are perfect examples of Melodic Metal. Blazblue is more of Melodic Metal and a combo of Metal and Classical.

I'll have to play that game again, as I only played it when it came out. :U I like a lot more songs that I never used to like when I was younger. Although I've till never really gotten into Metal.

I probably only think thrash whenever I hear "metal", but no, that's not thrashy at all. I love Megaman X after all, not to mention stuff by the Black Mages, which is all over the place sometimes.

And I think it's that leg that's showing, it goes down cone-like to meet the knee, where the inner thigh really should be going inwards a bit more, if you look at women's legs.

I think RPGs miscalculate whenever they separate love interests, making you have to rescue them or find them or what have you. Because it almost always has the opposite effect and makes you develop an affinity for the people in your party instead. You actually get to know those people.
This... DIDN'T happen for me with Mia, which is rare, but I always see Mia and Isaac fanart (*snicker*) so I know other people felt that way. The reason why I liked Jenna instead was because she had the childhood friend thing going on. Tifalolerz. AND PROBABLY 'CAUSE OF THE KILLER RACK. I assume the game liked this too and that's why her and Isaac are canon.
I think I also have a "she was there first" mentality when it comes to girls in RPGs. xD; I know lots of people favor Faris in FFV, but since Lenna is met before her, and you have a little moment together, I was like OOOOOO SOUUUUUL MAAAAATE. >8U
Yeah, I'm pretty cool.
But I also question the attractiveness of Faris if combing her hair over one eye makes everyone completely think she's a dude.

I never really pondered the pairings while playing the games, and am therefore neutral on all of them - except for Felix/Sheba, which I dislike because Felix could do SO much better. :/ I just always found Mia to be sweet and pretty, and while I do like Jenna a lot for her feisty personality, I do prefer Mia - but only slightly.
Games always like killer racks.
Well, in Faris's defense, I've seen some reeeally girly dudes. It's not hard to pull off.

The feisty side is what wins me over then, because Mia seems too normal in comparison. Like, you'd be really bored if you hung out with her. Which is... a very funny hypothetical situation now that I think about it.
Sheba makes little sense too, as you say. <.> It's as if she were the last one left, and they went "WELP, YOU GET FELIX, I GUESS". Because Felix is more so an elusive wandering nomad, it doesn't seem like he'd settle down. Like any sort of MATURE Japanese male character that's impossibly handsome. Aside from Sephiroth being crazy, does ANYONE think he would settle down with a nice girl? xD; I dunno, it just seems wrong.
And those girly dudes always get jokes about looking like girls, it's never the other way around. THAT DOES NOT BODE WELL FOR FARIS-CHAN.

I agree, Felix just doesn't seem the settling-down type... I'm probably also biased by the fact that I just never liked Sheba. She was like Ivan, but with more useless and less adorable. 8D

Sheba is a good reason to be biased. What did she... do? Aside from having to rescue her (I think...??) for most of the first game. It's like her character's purpose was to get rescued and nothing else. No quirks, no attitude, a blank slate of a creature existing to exist!

The sequel was a better game because you could have Isaac's full party join you too eventually, and the entire World Map opened up, which was massive. Way too massive. xD; So... many... battles...

Seriously, any game that opens up that much and lets you dick around looking for treasure and stuff is okay in my book. I just wish there had been a way to get back to all the Golden Sun locations as well... ;n; Probably woulda made the game TOO big, though. (NOT THAT I'D HAVE MINDED)
I also liked it better because I remember Sheba, Kraden and Jenna were infinitely more sassy and therefore provided far more interesting dialogue - Ivan and Mia were adorable, but they were far too quiet and serious, and Garet was just an idiot. D:

Makes me wonder if the whole world of Dark Dawn will be explorable in the next version of that, since they fucking tease you with the world map by clearly showing more locations off to the side that you can't get to. xD All you get to sail is that lake that's off to the east on the edge of the world.

The party was much better, yes. All throughout the first Golden Sun when you were chasing Felix I was jealous of how cool their party seemed. xD Isaac is NOTHING since he can't talk, and the others are just as you say.

The jumping airship and HUGE world was part of why I said "too... many... battles..." as well. If we can get an airship, A REAL ONE, we might be able to explore the world without constantly getting jumped by monsters every second. That game was way too big to be held back by that, and, it was.

For some reason it annoys me greatly on the boat, yet I have no problem with battles on land. It might be that the ocean is expansive with not many landmarks, so I spend much more time trying to make sure I've covered all the bases and haven't missed any secret islands or anything. Constantly getting jumped by bats that I can kill in one hit slows that down a lot. Sometimes I lose my train of thought and forget where I was going too. <.>
Raaaarrrr, it's a boat! I shouldn't even be having battles while sailing it!!
