he's an archeoly professor in london.
He's a super cute totally cool and heroic gentleman detective too LOL
Seriously, it's a game on Nintendo DS in wich you incarnate this professor, and investigate on many puzzles, and mainly a great mystery which is the principle plot of the story.
There are 4 games and 1 movie. If i'm not mistaked.
chronically it goes this way:
Layton4: The phantom flute (or something like that)
Layton the movie: the eternal diva
Layton1: The strange village
Layton2: The pandora box (or the devil box)
Layton3: The last time travel....the... last game. End of serie. And so sad.. but i dont want to spoil anything ="D
.....maybe i talked to much, sorry!! xDD lol
anyway, it's a very good game! you should try it!

nah, it's not an RPG.
It's a game where you have to solve puzzles 
and Layton4 comes first because it's the story of the first meeting with Layton (the hero) and his young apprentice, Luke.
then, le 3rd is the last, because... well last adventure. Layton and Luke seperation LOL
but there is a new game that will come out soon though. (where they are still together) =X
(and i dont know much about it yet)
soo... all i said was in the chronological way of the main story. Not when the games are out.
