Going with the Ike jacket or tunic. I know about this stuff due to I did WWII reenacing for 14 years.

Tunic badged with my current impression I also do WW2 reenacting my impression is a 141st regiment, 36th division infantry soldier who was mustered out in 1940 and is on leave in Naples Italy 1943 after Operation Dragoon

Well I like the name and I'm a fan the books so I don't see what's the harm in it

I would suggest picking a new name. Roran Stronghammer is the exact name of a character from the Inheritance Cycle series of books. It kind of sounds like you just stole it (not saying you did, but it sounds way too similar).
Other than that, this a really good OC! Nice job!

I'm not going to deny that is where I got the name. Couldn't think of anything else at the time and the name just kind of stuck and I'm a fan of the books besides I couldn't see calling him anything else now
