I wasn't trying to knock the other OVAs totally! There were certainly elements of Rei and Kira that I liked (the episode of Kira where baby Rika came to Hinamizawa just about made me cry ;___; ), I'm just not a fan of the overly blatent sexual fanservice that featured heavily in those OVAs. The cute and adorableness, as you said, is certainly a part of Higurashi, and that I do like.
