After the Winter Soldier Natasha left to find herself have some fun on a personal VIP hipster agent princess roadtrip. In some odd little coffee shop in the middle of nowhere she sat down to a table already occupied by a very pissed-off looking skinhead, to whom she didn't even pay attention at first. No more than any other civilian, at least. Not until she recognised him.
'Long time no see. I really didn't think I'd see your face again', she said.
'While you and mister Rogers, on the other hand, were all over the news', Loki said.

Neither wanted to tell everything, and neither asked the other about things left unsaid. Both knew that they could trust the other to be untrustworthy most of the time, and it was good.
'Where are you going?'
'Anywhere, really. I don't actually have any preferences on this realm. You?'
'Everywhere, if I only have the time.'

And that's how their strange roadtrip and a silent half-truce started. Natasha knew that not many would've done as she did - shrugged and drank her coffee while sitting with Loki and talking about life and people. It didn't bother her. In a way they were both in need of company, and both had a clear dislike for the other, so the basis for the agreement of their peace was clear. Coexistence, not a friendship by any means.
'That's an interesting style.'
'...As you've already let me know.'
'Sorry if I'm hurting your godly feelings, but it's a pretty radical change. Did you do it yourself?'
'Why of course, as a prince I'm surely forced to play my own hairdresser.'

'So someone did that to you.'
'Oh, but aren't you a clever one.'
'Yeah, and you're an ass.'
