So, you have never experienced our North Sea, Linda. One toe dip in that water would change your mind!

As I said below to Sheri - I was standing in the sea to take this, but I cropped out the beach to focus just on the huts and houses.
Many Thanks, Volker.

Hi Coco - lots of colour indeed - no two are alike. They are expensive and exclusive. People hand them on through the generations.
Many Thanks

Hi Sheri - yes - I was standing in the sea with camera on tripod for this, but I've cropped out the beach. These huts are a very famous feature of Southwold; there must be several hundred along the promenade that runs for about 1.5 miles. Very expensive to buy. Thousands of pounds.
Cheers

They are that expensive to own - often they are owned by families and passed on through the generations.

Wowsers!! Β They can't be all that big, what 600 sq feet, small. Β Thanks for filling my brain with more interesting fun facts.

You may be familiar with them first hand, Patricia. Quite pricey these days - I saw one on the market for Β£15,000!
Many Thanks

We were lucky this year - mostly very good weather. But, I agree, Southwold is no stranger to the rain. I know the amber shop - apparently amber was a common find on the beach and was also brought in from trawler nets. Do you mean the fishing quay down by the river? There is a most excellent fish restaurant down there now. Worth a visit, but booking essential!
Cheers
