It seems that all styles you try turn out fantastically!
For some reason it makes me think that this is almost a picture of a memory. I think it's the colouring. It's really nice.

Sometimes my tablet gets like that (i really don't know why) but i've found that saving your work and closing photoshop, then opening it again, helps.
And sometimes when that doesn't work, restarting the computer.
...sometimes i'm too lazy to do either though
