This picture would look great in HDR. But you did a wonderful job all the same.

I think I don't really need hdr, I have the luck to have a very very great sensor with the D800 and I can recover lights very deep ...
And also I like what should stay black and what should stay white. In some case I must admit hdr is necessary, but I feel not here.
With such landscapes, with great wind, the problem is that clouds move so quickly your hdr gets some ghosts problems.
You can find such places, by climbing and looking for reaching the skies ...

Oh, don't get me wrong, you did it perfectly. I just meant that if I ever found this place that I would take it in HDR. I use the Canon Rebel T3i and I keep taking advantage of the sensor and my Ultra Wide Angle lens.
I really do like the way you did it. I don't think it could have been done any better.

It's np, Steve, just an intersting talk about hdr ...
For now I do need hdr in few cases like for a dark inside with lighty window ...
That one for instance : fav.me/d5gdan2 , in order to keep the sky blue with a bit of a white cloud ...
But I must admit there are some who do great hdr !
