New genus and species of elasmosaurid plesiosaurs Alexeyisaurus karnoushenkoi from the Lower-Middle Norian, Upper Triassic deposits (Vilchekovskaya svita) of the Vilchek Land Island (Frantz-Joseph Land).Probably it can be the most ancient representative of typical late sauropterygians (plesiosaurs).
