Oh hey how small are you working then, cause that might be the prob....
I design those stamps always at 800x600, and when i'm finished designing, resize it to the stampdefault size
of 99x56. So in this way you see what you're doing and can check after the resize how things look.
But i allways keep my 800x600 original file....'cause you never know if you might want to do a edit.
The entire stamp design i did in PhotoFiltre.

I got a stamp default .psd from ~deviantStamps [link]
This .psd is 99x56 and has the layers you can delete in Photoshop. I've never thought of doing it big then resizing it. Dumb on my side!! I think I'm going to give that a try!! Thanks!!
