The nib was simply soldered to copper stud (base). This is very old variant. I've made nib holder for changeble nibs in late pens.

I write everyday, usually use a Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen, but I could see using something like this instead if the nib was fine enough and not too overflowing with ink when you wrote with it.Β I wonder.. could a fountain pen nib be somehow installed into a feather setup like this to use daily and refill.. would be amazing, but I don't know the size of this from looking at it.Β The ink refill could fit up inside the part where the leather is maybe.. this got my mind going.

Good idea. I've done ballpen with changeble Parker refill. So may be done something for Pilot pen. I think. Anyway it's interesting

Yes I'm shure. I was watching corvids for some years and collected feathers of all my local corvid birds including
crow, rook and raven. So I'm understand the different. This feather was 27cm long before cutting - good enough for raven from my region.

Okay I just had to make sure, because I've seen a lot of people (especially Goths and Black Metal fans) get ravens mixed up with crows, and crows get mixed up with ravens, then when I pointed out that they were wrong they'd be like, "Same thing!" and every time I'm just like "Nooo...
