Well... I can't say I am overly happy with the background in this... but I'm slowly getting better at it.Princess Nualette and her loyal bodyguard and lover... of a name I have yet to come up with, sitting in a windo in the Princess' quarters of the royal palace.
The Bodyguard is tall... VERY tall.

I think the highlights are very beautiful and feed the eye in that "sweet spot" kind of fashion. Their expressions are so peaceful and at ease, it is a convincing scene. Background is simple, so it isn't distracting. Great!

Sublime - having written much yuri fiction myself, I find that your approach to complementary aesthetic and relationship dynamics is most refreshing. There is too much femme/femme emphasis in yuri - your inclusion of a more androgynous/feminine contrast is outstanding. The Dark Elven guardswoman is stately, handsome and protective without being obtrusive or unduly masculine. She embodies the full potential of fantasy yuri.

I struggle with capturing emotions when I draw faces, so I do admire how these two look very much in love with eachother, so sweet.

Background: More detail. No, that's not what I mean (still sucking down my coffee) ... *grinding gear noises* ... dappled light and shadow on the trees, so they arent' so obviously different from the clouds? I'm trying to think of things you could do with markers...
Also the bodyguard's name. Maybe you could feminize the name of one of the tragic heroes of one of the Welsh or Gaelic myths. One of the boys from Deirdre of the Sorrows, perhaps?
