For me, this pairing is cute no matter what gender they are. I definitely agree with you that there needs to be more gay couples, and I would love it if Marceline and PB were canon, but CartoonNetwork would never allow that.

Well we can rely on VERY STRONG SUBTEXT to get us through! Did you know that there is more subtext in the AT comic as well? Not as strong but definitely there. I can give you a couple of online links if you like to the supposed subtexty pages.

Not outright subtexty, but this one is one of the sweetest moments in AT history :3 Not to mention they both have blushed faces. xD
[link] And you've probably already seen this one somewhere. It's one of those O_O moments that can be taken as an innuendo if taken out of context. 'How does it hurt our situation though?' xD Well, they are on a desert island alone, Marceline has already commented on PB's choice of attire, the internet is stuffed with internet jokes and was at this point also stuffed with PBxM fans. If the writers didn't put this one in intentionally as an innuendo of some sort then they must be completely blind to the connection power of the perverted younger generation.

There were two more but the GODDAMN LINKS HAVE EXPIRED! T_T (wait a second< i seem to have done something strange to my laptop as typing this and full stops come up as > and i cant turn off shift! wtf? goddamn sticky keys! if i had more links i couldnt send them to you anyway until i restart my laptop)
So basically in one of the missing links PB lends marceline her crown so that marcie can help fight the lich without being controlled by him. (YAY IT'S WORKING AGAIN!) She says just before Marceline and Finn disappear 'Don't get hurt' or something, showing that she cares for them both.
And in the second, the others are ALL beat up after fighting the lich, but PB is fussing over a small cut on Marceline's face, pointing it out to Marcie.
You know, those raging parents are EXACTLY the reason why a canon, non-stereotype gay couple would be a good thing because it's exactly the type of thing such an act would prevent from existing in the future. Stupid... Cartoon Network... Firing Dan Rickmers...

I'm not gonna lie, when I saw the name of the tumblr in the second link, I was wary about clicking it, at first I was like, "Aw, snap, is this gonna be some freaky porn or something?" But ahh, I have seen that! LOL. I was like, "This is a total hentai moment."
UGH, I wish I can see that page then, cause that's so cute, PB fussing over Marceline.. I know! Poor Dan. v _ v To me though, even if parents raged and boycotted, I think Adventure Time should still make them a couple as crazy as it sounds. Because if kids are allowed to watch a cartoon that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, with graphic violence, genocide, and the ice king's predatory kidnapping of young girls, then why is PB and Marceline dating such a problem? Them being girlfriends isn't as worse as any of that.

Exactly. A young(?)lesbian pairing would actually be the most NORMAL thing on the bloody show. xD If parents are disturbed by that then they shouldn't let their kids watch AT in the first place. I think it's their laziness holding them back, they'd rather let their kids see a pedophilic relationship (PBxF) than a homosexual one, after which they fear they'd need to talk about homosexuality with their 'confused' kids. But kids who have already figured themselves out homosexual still need to see some kind of homosexual icon to remind them that they aren't monsters, or insane, or freaks, and that homosexuality is largely accepted in many parts of the world, and it could rapidly decrease homophobic acts of bullying and torment.
Sorry I didn't reassure you about the second link, I was worried about that myself at first. xD I reassured the previous person I sent it to... strong language in the title, eh? But, yes, no porn, just a suggestive Adventure Time page.
The first one you saw, the cute one, was actually a comic by itself, a minicomic by Zac Gormen not linked to the main plot but MIGHT ACTUALLY BE THE SORT OF THING THAT HAPPENS IN 'SCREAM QUEENS'. With Marceline and PB (and Beemo?) getting their own concert-based comic... GAH I can't wait!
