Roxas and Axel near the top right. There's quite a bit more KH on the other one, "Kirby 65".

Nah. I just went with 64 Kirbys to play off of the title "Kirby 64". I do love that game, though. I think the power combining mechanic is one of the coolest things in any Kirby game to date. ^^ I did draw a chart of all of those powers back when I first played the game just to keep track of which powers I'd seen.

I agree. Those things are all awesome. ^-^ And it's cool that you've played Yggdra Union, fans of that game seem to be few and far between, which is too bad since it is a very solid title. I wish I put more time into it as well, I only played through it once while borrowing it from my brother, so there are tons of little things that I missed.

Oh, then you may not know about the bath scene extra. That's the one I was talking about. But, I saw the opening animation or whatever it was. That would make an amazing anime. Did you find some of the extra party members? I forgot her name, but the lady with the scythe is awesome. But Milanor is still the coolest character in that game. Which playable character was your favorite?

Omnirream In reply to Poke-Poet4 [2011-05-24 05:19:36 +0000 UTC]
I played the original GBA version, so scythe-lady wasn't in it. =/ Favourite playable character? Milanor, hands down. I liked a lot of the characters though; Russel, Roswell, and Rosary were all great.

Omnirream In reply to Poke-Poet4 [2011-05-25 01:21:40 +0000 UTC]
I suppose it's actually Russell, not Russel. >_> He's the blue-haired swordsman who serves the Imperial Army for a good portion of the game because they're holding his fiancee hostage. Hahaha... yeah, I challenged the angel too.

That description sounds familiar, but I just can't seem to remember how he looked. I'll check Google Images.*looks up picture from Google Images*
Oooohhhhhhh..... Now I remember that guy! He was one of the optional party members to get. You had to save his fiancee to make him join you. I think. What about that young Undine girl? Have you ever gotten her in your party? I also distinctly remember Durant. He was that dedicated knight that always stood by Princess Yggdra no matter what. Even for a video game, his level of loyalty is admirable.

Oh yeah, the Undine girl was pretty great too. Nietzche, I think? Give or take a few consonants. I remember Durant, as well. He was never my favourite character, but that's probably just because of better characters like Milanor. >_>

Yes. Gulcasa is the greatest. He really was such a brutally fearsome opponent. Every time he showed up after the first time I fought him, I was like, "Aw crap... I'm gonna die." And his design in general is just plain awesome. For me, I think he actually beats any of the playable characters for favourites, or is very close behind Milanor, and otherwise only falls second to Nessiah.

Omnirream In reply to Poke-Poet4 [2011-05-31 00:25:11 +0000 UTC]
While I completely agree with that second paragraph, because Twilight Princess is absolutely amazing, I wouldn't even consider comparing Nessiah to Tingle. o_o; Tingle's gross and awkward. Nessiah's weird too, but his whole "knowing more than he should" thing turns out to be reasonable since he's secretly been orchestrating everything from the start.
A lot of the details are subtle and I'm not sure if it's all explained in-game (I did read some stuff about him in other places) but the gist is: He was an angel, but he was a pacifist who refused to fight, even against demons. For this, he was banished from heaven, lost his wings and his eyes, and was forced to live an immortal life on Earth (or whatever the land was called). So he creates the sword that Yggdra wields, which draws its strength from every battle it fights, with the intention of using it, once it had become powerful enough, for revenge against the angels.
In summary, I respect his initial pacifism and applaud his efforts to seek revenge. >_>

Poke-Poet4 In reply to Omnirream [2011-05-31 01:54:19 +0000 UTC]
Okay. I either forgot or didn't know/understand every single thing about Nessiah.... Since you've given me that great character summary(or is it a character history? Well, whatever it was), I now agree and support Nessiah's valiant efforts and firm reasoning completely. I now understand his situation and actions. Basically(and for lack of a better phrase), Heaven screwed him over. Being kicked out of the holiest place in the universe, the source of ultimate good and peace, for NOT WANTING TO FIGHT?! Seriously? They even cursed him with an eternal life of suffering in the terrible world we are forced to live in AND made him blind on top of that! He wasn't weird at all, just very mysterious and secretive. And who wouldn't be? Now I see exactly how an ANGEL could put me through so much HELL! She was evil, just like the rest of Asgard probably was. I'm on his side now.
DEATH TO THE ANGELS OF ASGARD!!!!!! With the mighty sword forged in the white-hot flames of divine vengeance, whose power grows stronger with every life it takes, and the Warrior-Princess who wields it with the grace of the very angels it was crafted to smite, ASGARD SHALL FALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! And a new ruler shall take the throne to raise it up to even greater glory than before. Her royal adviser shall take his rightful place at the Queen's side and help to guide the world's fate for eternity. The other allies who have aided her in the fight for heavenly conquest shall soon have the honor of serving under Asgard's most just and benevolent leader. ALL WILL BOW DOWN BEFORE HER MAJESTY, QUEEN YGGDRA!!!!!!!!!!!!
How did you like the war speech? I think it would be Durant who would give it. A revolution is about to begin!

Omnirream In reply to Poke-Poet4 [2011-05-31 05:21:21 +0000 UTC]
Well. Like I said, I'm not even sure if it was fully explained in Yggdra Union. But yeah, pretty much. Very nice war speech, by the way, and truly befitting of the Ragnarok ending.

Poke-Poet4 In reply to Omnirream [2011-05-31 12:49:44 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but there were some parts I remembered were explained in-game. When I get in the moment, stuff like that speech just happen. My brain can transition between my imagination and my knowledge so quickly and smoothly, that I sometimes don't even notice.
Btw('By the way' if you don't already know that), there is a ton of Norse mythology stuff in Yggdra Union. Norse mythology is usually only associated with the Vikings, but it actually applied to the majority of northern European countries and Germanic tribes around that time period. If you haven't seen 'Thor' at a movie theater, then it would actually be slightly educational(but mostly awesome) to see it. I went on Wikipedia after I went to see it because I'm interested in ancient mythology and civilizations. I'll tell you a few references from the game:
1.Yggdra's name and it's meanings- the name 'Yggdra' is obviously derived from 'Yggdrasil', The World Tree. Apparently, it was believed that there were 9 realms which made up the world tree. More like dimensions really. One of them was Middle Earth(Us during the early Middle Ages/Dark Ages), located somewhere around the middle branches of Yggrasil. Another, which was located at the very top, was Asgard. *Her full name is Yggdra Yuril Artwaltz, but I've only refered to her first name*
*If this information is too long or boring to you, feel free to stop reading. I show-off my knowledge all the time and it can get annoying for most people... Just saving you time that you may think is being wasted with this if you don't care.*
2.Asgard- where the Norse gods resided. It was the realm that held Valhalla(Viking Heaven), and is a common reference to heaven in most RPGs.
3.Valkyries- "any of the beautiful maidens who serve Odin and ride over battlefields to claim the dead heroes and take them to Valhalla" as stated on dictionary.com. They have been associated with ravens or swans at times. However, in modern RPGs, they are usually described as strong female warriors who act as either guards or aerial soldiers.(So, basically, they are the female air force of the Middle Ages. At least if they are being portrayed in video games anyway.) I believe there were two enemies with that title in Yggdra Union: Twin Valkyries Aegina Eine Artwaltz and Luciana Rune Artwaltz.
*Most information I didn't already know was from wikipedia.org. Any other sites I used were specified in the context.*

Don't worry about boring me with information; it probably won't happen. I love to learn about all sorts of things. Ancient history, religion, any form of science, and really anything fictional at all. Politics bore me, but I think that's about it.
I haven't seen Thor yet. I'm glad to hear that it's so well received, considering how "hit or miss" super hero movies tend to be.

Poke-Poet4 In reply to Omnirream [2011-05-31 17:06:27 +0000 UTC]
O.O Everything you just said applies to me as well.(except I have seen Thor) It's for the sake of conversations like these that I try to talk to people so much. I've never met anyone who fits the description of that first paragraph besides myself. Not even my friends from high school were like that.(I'm actually graduating from high school next month, so I just finished it.) I always wished I could do stuff with my friends while we weren't in school, but that is the only time I was able to hang-out with them. But I've gotten used to doing things alone a long time ago. *sigh* My Summer will be mostly playing my 3DS, watching countless episodes of animes online, reading with the Amazon Kindle my mom is going to give me for a graduation gift, taking walks in the nice weather, and swimming in my cousin's big pool. Still, there's also the college-related stuff and probably some other kinds of paperwork. I'm sorry that this is basically just what I'm thinking right now..... I tend to rant on and on if given the chance. What about you, got any plans for the Summer?

Omnirream In reply to Poke-Poet4 [2011-06-01 17:28:11 +0000 UTC]
Let's see. I actually graduated high school two years ago. Since then I took a one year intensive Game Design course at Vancouver Film School; tons of fun, met great people, learned a lot. All around it was a great experience. So the long-term plan is to make the games I want to make for a living, shorter-term to find any work in the industry at all, and as far as the summer goes, find whatever work I can so that I can pay some bills and support myself while I try to make this career happen. -____- Pretty much just trying to get my feet off the ground. Although, I'll probably buy a 3DS once I have income again and the plan is to find a place to live with my older brother (whom I haven't lived with in years), so there are bound to be plenty of games, anime, and fun in general during whatever free time I have.
What do you plan to study in college? My first guess would be some form of literature.
π: 0 β©: 1
Poke-Poet4 In reply to Omnirream [2011-06-01 22:49:59 +0000 UTC]
This is going to sound strangely coincidental but is absolutely true. Basically 65% of what you just said I was already planning to attempt doing during the next 4 years of my life. As for that guess of literature, probably. I love to read various types of books(you never really know if you'll like a book until you are halfway through it.), I hate writing though. Let me now clarify that so it makes more sense. I like writing in the non-literal sense, it is the ACT of writing with my terrible handwriting and bad handwriting habits(such as misjudging how much more space I have left on the line and being forced to squish the rest of my half-written word into the tiny amount of space between it and the edge of the paper) that I hate. In short, I much prefer typing up the things I 'write'. Game Design has always been a dream job for me. But, being realistic, I now just hope I can get a career SOMEWHERE in the gaming industry. I'm pretty sure I could at least achieve THAT. All the stuff you said about your experience at Vancouver Film School are things on my to-do list for enjoying college. Someday soon, I WANT to get a place to live aside from with family members, but I'm still unsure of if I can do it or not. Also, as I may or may not have told you, I've always liked learning about ancient civilizations, so that might become some sort of real-life 'side-quest' for me. Not sure exactly how though.... As for a 3DS, I can say from experience, that YOU NEED TO GET ONE IF YOU'VE EVER THOUGHT YOU MIGHT WANT ONE!!!! Mine costed me this much: 1 PSP system, 2 PSP games, 4 DS games, 1 DSi system, and about $80 total with tax included. I sold the things that weren't money for store credit at the Game Stop I bought the 3DS at. AND I REGRET NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is really that awesome in my opinion. And that was without a game to go with it. I got it the second day it was released. All I had left was 3 Wii games(not counting Wii sports), 1 red Wii system w/ 2 remotes and nun-chuks, and 1 DS game besides the newly acquired system. The price before tax was about $250.

Cool. Game design is a great occupation. There's so much room for creativity and it's so much easier to have fun with your job when your job is literally to make fun. There is also a good variety of roles to play in the games industry, as a game designer, a level designer, an artist, a writer, a programmer, a QA tester, a producer, or any of dozens of others. Personally, I like to where multiple hats, or different hats for different projects. I totally know what you mean about writing. I quite like writing things by hand if they're short and concise or if I'm filling out a chart or a list or something. It's nice to be able to break away from the formatting of a word processor. But anything of any length at all, any actual 'writing', is much easier to type. That way it's tidy, easy to edit, and it puts a lot less strain on my writing hand, since I tend to give my pencil the death-grip without realizing. I'll get a 3DS at some point. I've had the same DS since the original came out, so it's about time I replace it. The speakers sometimes crackle and the battery never lasts more than a half-hour without being plugged in. It gets the job done but it's ready to retire. And since the 3DS has exclusive game cards I'll need to upgrade to play new titles anyway. On that level, getting a 3DS is practically a necessity, so all of the wonderful features it has are bonuses to me.
