"Bugs of the mind"20x15 inches
Gouache, ink, Prismacolor pencils and acrylics on watercolor paper
The stream-of-consciousness drawings are hard to interpret. At their core lies the desire of the painter to hold a dialogue, whether with the material, the subject matter, or a million tiny critters, ideas for which dance in ones' head.
A year or two back, I wouldn't have hesitated for a moment to declare that everything I make is about birds. These days, I'm not so sure.
The text on the birdcritter's chest is exerts from Peter S. Beagle's poetry within "The Last Unicorn" (Properly cited, mind you!).

I've always found my own stream-of-consciousness stuff to be utterly beyond mortal interpretation. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with this dilemma.
