Description This is a self portrait I am very happy with. I love the way it turned out. Several things to talk about here. First, the wings are something I have been putting together for a few weeks. It has been slow going though because the craft store near my house has a continuous lack of feathers So I have been just adding them as I get them. I will be using them in a future picture with Stacey once they are completed. The lighting here, in case ne one is curious, is from two alienbees strobes. One is fitted with a large softbox and is on a boom arm in front of me, and the other was aimed at the ground as a bounce. I hope everyone enjoys this.

The slight grainyness and cut to keep the eyes out were very good decisions. I also applaud people who can use wings but still keep it masculine.

great shot, I am usually not a fan of cutting of the face due to it's ability to convey emotion, but this shot straight up shatters that rule, freaking amazing

Beautiful shot, the colour pallete saves it from being the
cliched "angel" shot which seems to be more common than
a bad rash on this site, yet through your use and control over
your lighting, its so much more than that.

Probably the most effective element is the tight crop, the emotion
you've created through Not including the face is excellent,
a look of almost ignorance, but closer to boredom, tremendous.

And how good is camera raw's vignette. Oh yeah

This is an amazing photo... one of my new favs... I've had in my devwatch for sometime now, meaning to come back and comment, but i've been lazy...
Anyway, I think what may make this photo for me is the vignetting... it seems to really add to the whole surreal aspect of the photo. Of course the cropping is perfect as well... Another particularly cool aspect for me is that the wings are not perfectly symmetric... they're slightly askew... which seems to fit in with the ambience created by the tones and lighting.
I'm wondering though, how this might look with a little bit of grain (not noise )
Also, how exactly are the wings attached to you?
