just so you know, this is not done digitally! it's an entirely traditional media collage done with transparencies.why do i love monks so much? why do i adore them so? they are not cool. they are not sexy. all they do is pray and make beer and make books and garden and read. oh, maybe that's why...
i also like learning about restricting, dubious, institutions and time periods. so there you go.

Yes. 
I love that it gives the impression of a thick forest, despite the fact what trees are seen are small and thin. And the light that comes to shape the hands and arms reminds me of what some western funerals do for the dead, crossing the arms over the chest. The monk deep in thought... I love vague, ominous stuff...
