Feather weight ethics perch upon a green aerie:
A plump bird hisses at its plumed neighbors’ taste
For seeds unlike flax and amaranth

Then the plump bird is a soft purr in its vast blue sky
Overhanging lush forests, manicured lawns, and
Trucks carrying tree trunks from forgettable lands.

While the lean bird sees that empty preen
Soaring with passive avian eyes
Cast down from a crumbling pedestal.
