Description A photo from my "dry run" for my Carnaval makeup. My final makeup will differ from this, but this is how I tell if I like what I see in photographs. Often, what I'm crazy for in my mirror doesn't photograph the way I want it. I already know what I want to change, but for now, this is what I'm working from!

As luck would have it, let me know about a contest that's running right now, [link] - and I'm submitting this photo....this explains the title and the border.

Thanks! The long, long lashes actually had pieces dipped in gold - they came that way; I didn't make them!

I have two words for you: Ben Nye. His makeup is highly pigmented and if you use a cream and then overlay with his pressed powder eyeshadows/blushes, you've got a lovely vibrant look.

There's a new set of folks too....what is their name.... - goes to look - Paradise Makeup AQ - and that's what I used for the black. You apply it with water - I used a paint brush - and it's VERY deep and pigmented.

Check your local costume shops; they'll have it!

If you're trying to do all over body paint, Mehron does metallic powders that you put on with some kind of liquid to "set" it that is wonderful. I have the Kryolan metallic wheel, but I find them pretty difficult to apply. Maybe I just don't know how??

I've never done full body. Just faces. I was just trying to figure out why places like Disney and Universal facepaints always look better, and I noticed they always have a metalic glittery feeling to them

Ben Nye has a line called "Luminere" or something that is a shimmery eyeshadow that's highly pigmented. They have matte, too, but I LOVE the Luminere line. I'm working on getting one of each color.
