Description This was an expirement with inking I did. The characters are not my own (thus why I put this in the fan art section), they are of Lena Inverse and Zelgadas from my all time favourite anime, Slayers. At first I was a little weary about using ink, because I use my pencil as my crutch *hugs her graphinte* But life is like art, some things you just have to do even if you can't erase, you improvise.

I actually like how it turned out. I thought I ruined it with all the cross hatching XD

Well here it is. Enjoy.

Thank you! i think the most difficult part about ink drawing is thinking, Every mark is permanent. The secrete is to improvise when you make a mistake; try and turn your mistake into something else. Sometimes you'll be the only one who notices you even made a mistake! It's all practice

XD That's what a boy that used to go to my school told me. My brother says so too. The kid drew with sharpies, and my brother draws with pen a lot. I'm just so attatched to my pencil. I heard it takes a LOT of practice to make smooth inking though. So I'm not so discouraged. I think you probably learned a lot from drawing this one though! Good work.

I think you did an excellent job with the cross-hatching. ^.^ For someone who's not used to playing around with ink, you did a wonderful job. If you hadn't admitted that you normally stick to pencil, then I would have thought that all of your drawings were done in ink like this one! I love the way it turned out!

No, I don't think you ruined it at all. I'm a sucker for black & white artwork, and I think this is a really nice peice. I'd like to see you ink more of your stuff, actually. The thing I love about inking is, although you can't erase, there's always process white, which is just about as good. also, it brings out more of a stark contrast between your areas of dark and light. Try not to get too freaked out over the fact that you can't erase. Trust yourself. I mean, after all, you are tracing over something that YOU drew, right? neways, keep up the good work! l8r!
