Well.. For the title, it could be "what's there?"

As for the picture.. the cloud in the lower right side of the sky is clearly fake, You should try to blur him, so it will be even with the other clouds.. Or maybe it's the light/shadow thing that isn't work out to me.. Anyways, great picture

It's never too late for editing You're only need to blur the cloud and maybe do something with the TooGreenGrass =\ If you want, I can give it a shot

Its just that I don't know where I left the original but if you want you can go ahead and see if you can get something better.

Hi Kate,

I have mangaed to see most of your work on this site...Exceptional!!!!! I have one query. What made you choose ISO 400 as the film speed as it tends to bring noise to the images. But anyways your camera handled this very well. You sure must be happy with your camera!! And I wish I could see the original image without the cloud background. AWESOME WORK AGAIN..

Aww thank you very much! well I had to use ISO 400 because the dog moved so much and it was hard to get a good shot of him without it being blurry. lol you dont want to see the original.

surreal colors and perspective! I love the low horizon line, it really makes it dramatic and lets you get a lot of pretty blue sky^^

Was going to ask how you managed to get such a broad DOF. Then I realized the grass in the background was out of focus and suspected an edit. I'm not sure what the background was before but this is certainly very nice. I think the image would be more realistic if you could blur the clouds a bit and it might solve the discontinuity of the focus which is kind of distracting. Not sure how you'd go about doing that but it might be worth trying. Just a suggestion.

Well done.

Great shot - the colors are so bright and sunshiney The clouds are added really well, gives the photo a very summery look. It all looks a bit drawn/unrealistic though. Not like it's a bad thing.

Nice work

I cant belive this shit - kate this is crazy - youve improved so much since i last spoke to you

I feel like such an amateur.

Im going to wipe my whole gallery once i can affoird a proper camera like yours and start taking some proper photos.

openxsky In reply to cornzee [2005-06-28 18:35:25 +0000 UTC]

lol.. Are you crazy?? I haven't improved at all I think I am getting worse by the moment. lol..
Its not about the camera its about the person behind the camera.

cornzee In reply to openxsky [2005-06-28 20:04:11 +0000 UTC]

Yes, of course. But with a standard camera, i can only produce standard photographs.

If i have a good camera such as the Canon eos 20d, i can produce better quality photographs, use more equipment such as lenses, and i find when i use a better camera, i end up with better pictures.

With my current camera, i just take it along and take pictures of what i like, the best way i can.

if i was able to get my hands on a canon eos, i garuntee my photography would be taken to a whole new level

openxsky In reply to cornzee [2005-06-29 06:28:21 +0000 UTC]

Ooh well what kind of camera do you have?
I agree that yeah.. If you have a sucky camera and you acutally want to get more into photography it would be nice to have a camera where you can learn all the functions and with a better camera you are given a better chance of taking a better photograph I guess?? Hmm how many fps does the 20D have?
Good luck but dont wait till you get a new camera you can start experimenting with the one you have currently.

I currently have an olympus mju 410 - which suffices but is nto brilliant for what i want to do - take proper photo's and not snapshots.

Take yesturday for example - there was lightening and fricking tonnes of it, but i couldnt set a long exposure time so i could take any pictures of it.

Had i had a camera such as the canon eos 20d, i would hav been able to do so and woulkd have had some amazing results

I really really really like that! Such a beautiful dog. I don't really see any flaws except for maybe the dog's hind legs are kind of blurry. It's probably intentional, but I wouldn't have done that. Then again, I'm not a photographer/manipulater. Nice work tho! I really love it.

Very cute shot, and good perspective.

The only critique I have is that you can kinda see this glow-type thing around the edge of his snout/face.

As I didnt really like that daily deviation I commented on I find this one is much more worthy of a daily dev.
Great capture of (uncontrolable) dog, heh. Problem with animals is you can'T tell them to stop moving and it seems like you asked him this time and he did it.
Looks like you really had time to think about the pictures composition as, I assume, you had none.
His eye is placed on the third of the picture and the sky part also takes two thirds in height and one third in... heh, the other way 0_o XD.
As if it was intended!
Anyways, enough babbling:
great picture!

just a smal thing to critique, next time when you ad clouds like in this shot .... blur them ... the focus in this shot is on the dog and not on the clouds ..

For me I feel that you sometimes over saturate images to an extent where they become artifical... this is certeanly a personal oponion, but at this image I just couldn't help to remark that. But the composition is excelent!

openxsky In reply to ivettordog [2005-06-12 16:03:02 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. I agree with you. But its just that I feel that without giving it some extra color its dull.. So I dont know what to do.
