Description Ok, this was a submission for PFN's "period Phantom" competition. I decided to go with the pomp and circumstance of the 18th century because the dramatic sihlouettes of tricorns and inverness capes really lend themselves to the intrigue of the Opera Ghost. Also, it was common practice for mache' masks to be worn for many different occasions.

I have to say, this is probably one of the best portraits of the Phantom I've ever seen. You really captured the scariness of his eyes! Excellent job!

Ooooh... my.... ::: hand over heart; breathless::: isn't he dashing! :: sigh :: NO man could ever look ugly or horrible in 18th c attire. Not even Erik.
I simply ADORE this image! Bravo! ...

Aroara wandering the woods looking for flowers that bloom at night. Sees a dark figure coming nearer and nearer.
Aroara: Whose there?

"your money or your life!" came the eerie cry. fletcher stopped in his caravan in time to see the masked figure apparate onto the road, his jacket flapping in the wind. fletcher looked into those soulless, empty eyes and knew that they would be the last thing he ever saw...

I just favourited this and a thing popped up reminding me that I've favourited two of your things and said "You must really like this deviant, would you like to watch them?" Is that new? It's cool! I said yes!

Anyway, love the picture and the detail! You are very talented and have good ideas!

Very dark and 19th century and awesome and... is that what I think it is?

Oh man. I remember this poem from way back in high school. "The Highwayman" is so tragic and beautiful--just like your interpretation of Phantom. Your detail work on the costume is fabulous. +Fav.

::The Highwayman Opera Ghost shrinks from the lantern's glare, narrowing his eyes:: Firstly, it is only a 'good' evening to those who haven't yet realized that it is sorely not.....secondly...::raises his flintlock:: Holdups. Your purse please...

He's just as surly as his 1880's counterpart::grins::However, he's a little more brash.
