Heheh, sounds like the kind of place that will have you washing sand out of your ears for a couple days, if you can stand the cold water that is! I think I'd stick to the shore and take pictures!
Just looked at the shot again, I like it more and more every time! Something really cool about B&W photos, and there are some great contrasts in these two pics.

Thank you...I'll brave the cold (mid 60's is cold as I'll go) if the waves are cool (for bodysurfing). I really like the disposables, but there's always an element of surprise- I think the pic is larger than what's framed. I hate shorebreaks like that because they're really dangerous, & sometimes I get really bored, & when I'm really bored, I can be a little stupid. Give me a nice off shore sandbar that dumps into a trough (waist deep, or deeper, for cushion) and I'm a happy camper

There is a simplicity to this which I love (I'm a sucker for simplicity), but it has enough interest with the patterns in the sand and the huge wave - and the obvious enjoyment of the people - to hold my attention.

thank you...I love the ocean...the whole week I never went in- I was feeling pissy about the weather & the crappy shore-break- but I noticed other people having fun so I went for a walk & got some shots- had fun despite myself!
