Description One thing I've noticed since watching "A Tale of Two Stans" is that Stan is actually a pretty talented salesman. The main thing holding him up is that he's extremely untalented in making things so his merchandise is trash. So I got to wondering what would have happened if Stan had partnered up with someone who had a product that was actually good and this came to mind. Hope you like it.Β (Also, before drawing this comic I never realized how far apart Filbrick's eyes are compared to the other characters)

I bet that fleeing was the first thing that came into Stan's mind when the reporters approached him. Was he living as a guest at Fiddleford's home before he could afford a place of his own with his share of the profits?

Orangephoenix6 In reply to Luiz4200 [2017-03-08 18:59:51 +0000 UTC]

It was certainly hard for them to get an interview at first, lol. At the time Stan was still living out of his car & cheap motels. It took a little while before he and Fiddleford became good enough friends that he'd be invited to stay & by that time Stan was doing well enough that he could afford his own place.

Luiz4200 In reply to Orangephoenix6 [2017-03-08 23:21:55 +0000 UTC]

Was it hard for the reason I theorized? Were they at whatever place served as their corporate headquarters back when they gave that interview?

Any chances Stan's ex-wife shows up with a "Stan Junior"?

"I can relate"

Is that a coincidence you had Fiddleford use the word "relate" or did you write this page after reading Ford's line in Journal 3 about being able to relate to Fiddleford's ambition?

Orangephoenix6 In reply to Luiz4200 [2017-02-04 13:00:53 +0000 UTC]

Just a coincidence. The journal came out way after I made this page.

Orangephoenix6 In reply to Luiz4200 [2017-01-15 18:27:39 +0000 UTC]

I had a vague idea. Stan & Fiddleford in this timeline met before Fiddleford would have gone to Gravity Falls in the original timeline (and in "Society of the Blind Eye" McGucket says he'd been in Gravity Falls for a year before his accident) so I figured it would be about a year or so to make things sort of line up.

I see from the panel after Stan's comment about being able to sell Fiddleford's idea that Fiddleford was the first one to seriously consider it.

Did other kinds of personal computers already exist back when Stan and Fiddleford started marketing laptops?

There were a few but the weren't widely used/known and definitely not as advanced as Fiddleford's.

I bet Filbrick initially assumed it was Stanford.

Filbrick: Look! (shows the newspaper) Stanford finally became a millionaire!
Ma: (reading the story) That's Stanley, dear.
Filbrick: Quit being a pathological liar! That's Stanford.
Ma: He doesn't have the extra fingers. It's Stanley.
Filbrick: Stanford must be hiding them somehow. You know how he feels about them.
Ma: The newspaper says "Stanley".
Filbrick: Must be a mistake on their part. Let's just hope the knucklehead doesn't ruin everything trying to take advantage of it.

Later, when he finally accepts it's Stanley.

Filbrick: I should've known the knucklehead would need to ride on a Ford's coattails. I'm sure this Fiddleford character would go even further had he met Stanford first.

Filbrick: I stand by what I said regarding Fiddleford McGucket.

After they finally learn Fiddleford did meet Stanford first.

Filbrick: I can't believe it! Stanford was always so smarter than the knucklehead! Why couldn't it be the same when it mattered the most?

I don't think the alliance is as dumb as it sounds. From what I saw in "Tale of Two Stans," Stan can get people to buy stuff. The problem was, Β it was all junk since Stan lacked any engineering capabilities. McGucket has technological brilliance, but little street smarts. So their partnership can actually work in a business sense.

I am already intrigued. I can't wait to read more.Β
