Phew, this was... an interesting one to do.I was going to give Yail some more muscles but since I put a lot of effort to the bones it would have been a shame to cover them.
This is a bit of foreshadowing what will happen in the comic. Just a little!

So far I'm used to people commenting how my stuff looks like something else. I always try to remind myself that people see it as a good thing rather than accusing me of copying or such x'D
Sadly that's just what comes often to artists minds when people point out stuff like that.

Yeah that's why I specified that it was positive :c I kind of understand of the way it can be frustrating, but I must say that it still always surprises me a bit... I mean, it's like where people can get their inspiration from, not "copied"...
Ew, I'll try to explain what I think ! (even if it's not usefull ahah well)
If I said alien here, to be "fast" in what I wanted to transmit, in my mind it's more "it achieves what I personnaly think of as a good thing in potraying a dark, cunning, sly, deadly predator (like, predator, not Predator), in a sci-fi distopian world".
It comes from the lightning (blue-ish), that is cold, dark ; the bone-like person, who easily portray something bestial ; and of course the bones who portray... Well, dead things ahah.
And even if it's not bones, the Alien monster still has some high detailed sharp anatomy, which is totally logical for something that hunts a lot ! It points out something... Deadly.
That's why I think it's a "good thing" and not just a "copy thing", Alien was only the first thing that came to my mind when I thought of an iconic, deadly, frightening predator !
And, I think, the word that may contains all this is "fear" and "monster".
But well, not all people mean that too I suppose, so I don't know ahah
I hope all of this doesn't bother you, I would be really sad, 'coz really it's just not what I want !

Yeah I get where you are coming from
But the part that is frustrating often is that people keep only saying things resemble something and leave it at that. It's kinda like, uh.. okay? Nothing else?
If even half the people bothered to go through the trouble of saying why exactly they think it's cool to see some familiar elements like you just described, not nearly as many comments would come out so negative xD
As far as I've gathered is that people love to find familiar things from new things
