1000500010 is a native of Grayscopolis . . .

• She grew up in the city with her father. Her mother went missing when she was very young, so she never knew who she was. Her father used to work for B.L.A.N.C.H.E as a respected officer. He ran a pretty strict household and tried his hardest to instill his beliefs onto 1000500010 but it never seemed to stick. He always would say that she had her "Mother's spirit." But whenever he would say it, he would say it with a bittersweet tone in his voice.

1000500010 realized she was stained at 10 years old . . .

  • When she behaved herself, she would get rewarded. Her favorite reward being sweets. Candy to be more specific, and lollipops were her favorite. When her father would come home from work, sometimes he would surprise her with some candy, or a pastry from their favorite bakery. One day, he came home and he presented to her a small baggy that she assumed was filled with treats. She was right, but upon opening the bag this was the first time she wasn't excited to have something sweet.

Inside the bag, nestled amongst the other monochrome candy, was a single bright pink lollipop.

  • When she realized she was different, her mind started racing immediately. She knew what this meant, her father spoke about people like this. And although she loved her father very much, she knew he would never understand. And something in her gut told her that she had to leave. Because whatever this was, she didn't know if it could be fixed ... and she didn't want it to. Because when she tasted that lollipop, that almost blinding lollipop, it was the best thing she ever tasted in her life. It was almost as if the color made the candy that much sweeter. She knew then that she didn't want to have anything else. And she knew that was a problem.

  • She stuck it out though, for a few more years, trying to play off the fact that she was seeing more and more things in color. Even things on herself that started to change. At first, it was a couple strands of hair that she tried tucking away out of view. Then her eyes, which she started hiding behind a cloud of her own hair. Her father just shrugged it off as teen behaviors and her expressing herself, when really she was trying to hide parts of herself. It wasn't until she realized that her hair had full streaks of pink in it that she knew she wouldn't be able to pretend anymore. She ran away at 13.

1000500010 was scouted . . .

  • When she ran away there was a huge search party out to find her. Her father had pulled some strings and extended some connections to help with the search in trying to get his daughter back. 1000500010 was determined that she wasn't going to be "desaturated" or lose this part of her that she considered to be a gift. She sought out assistance with the C.M.Y.K, and she didn't even know if they would take her in at her age. But she didn't know where else to turn and knew she couldn't do this by herself.

  • Luckily, she wouldn't have to. Because they found her.
