Day 2 of my 30-day, one-hour-each Homestuck challenge. I just barely made it since I postponed drawing until after work, dinner, dishes, etc.

My favorite troll - Karkat. He's a shouty loudmouth who seriously needs a good soap scrub about the teeth and tongue, but I can't help but love the character anyway. I think it's because he tries so hard to be a good leader despite the fact he considers himself horribly flawed. For all the swearing and shouting he's also quite capable of being sincere and even considerate toward those he considers his friends.

If I hadn't been allowed to choose Karkat for some reason, other possibilities for my favorite troll include Terezi, Kanaya, and possibly Vriska (she's a hard sell at times, but that complexity makes her an interesting character in my book).

Tomorrow: My Patron Troll. Now, common conception decrees this to be the troll associated with my zodiac sign, which would be Feferi, but a fan analysis of the kids and their patron trolls reveals a system whereby the numbers of their birthdate (month-day) are added together to get the number of their patron troll (i.e. John: 4/13. 4+1+3 = 8 = Vriska) which would give me Kanaya.

So which one do I go with? The commonly believed system or the numerical one which corresponds more exactly with the arrangement in canon?

I'll decide tomorrow, I suppose.
