Sometimes it is the Grammar Nazi's idea to point the problems out by doing exactly the same thing.
Which is called Trolling.
This isn't a fail.

There is a fine line between wanting to help others with their grammar skills and just completely degrading someone for their mistakes. The guy in this deviation (who shall remain anonymous) did that a lot. He proudly called himself a "Grammar Nazi", despite his bad habit of making many mistakes himself. That never stopped him from always insulting others for their grammar mistake.
TL;DR- As I stated before (if you took the time to read some of the comments below), the whole "Grammar Nazi" definition is mostly targeting him since he claimed to be one. As well as anyone who repeats what he did. So, put a smile on, sad kid.

I suppose that is true, but I assure you that is not what I aim to do. But after a couple dozen times correcting my friends over the SAME mistake, I just would've thought they'd learn. T.T So it's frustrating sometimes, when people don't take things as seriously as you do.
I don't think being a Grammar Nazi is a bad thing. My friend calls me that, and while I find it annoying, I LIKE knowing the difference between you're and your, to, too, and two, and there, their, and they're. This anonymous person sounds like a hypocrite though. Practice what you preach, I think is the phrase. XD
No sad faces here.

As a Grammar Nazi, I find you're description of us to be completely inaccurate. I do not correct someone to make myself seem smarter, I correct them because I still value the English language , and therefor, become appalled when I see others butcher it.

"As a Grammar Nazi, I find you're description of us to be completely inaccurate."
*Your
As a "Grammar Nazi", you're doing a terrible job at it.
Either way, put a smile on, sad kid. That definition is mostly to describe that guy, as he calls himself a "Grammar Nazi". Despite making many common mistakes like that in his insults.

'' "Grammar Nazi"- A nickname used to describe someone who constantly corrects and/or insult the grammar mistakes of others, in order to make them seem more intelligent."
Actually...I find this incorrect, when i DO correct someone, is usualy on their deviation text, with the goal to help them, i kinda doubt G-Nazis do this constantly just to feel more smart.

Darkman140 In reply to OrotheEchidna [2011-04-29 14:33:05 +0000 UTC]
Actually, i wouldn't know about that and neither would you without a research, and if most do it then it's just plain stupid obviously.
I do not remember labeling myself as a grammar nazi, my point here is that G-Nazis really don't do what they do to seem more smart, i've talked with some and was told they did it because they couldn't stand any mistakes, but obviously everyone makes mistakes at grammar, and when you do, it makes you look like a hypocrite IMO, what i said is that i only correct people's grammar when it's in a deviation, like a happy birthday drawing.

You said that regarding my fake definition for "Grammar Nazi". You indirectly called yourself a Grammar Nazi. Congrats.
"obviously everyone makes mistakes at grammar, and when you do, it makes you look like a hypocrite IMO"
That is the whole point of this deviation.
And I don't see your point. What exactly makes the few Grammar Nazi that you saw different from the ones that I saw? At least to the point that you find a fake definition (created just for the lulz) incorrect? What "research" have you done exactly to make you think that most Grammar Nazi do it because of what you said, and the rest that do it because of stupidity? Please, enlighten me.

š: 0 ā©: 1
VioletisBlue In reply to OrotheEchidna [2010-02-22 02:36:09 +0000 UTC]
I generally hate fan fics solely because I have never come across a creative, or interesting one.
Most fan fics are uncreative, poorly written, and clash vastly with the story they are trying to emulate.
If one were to write a story set in the universe of a story already created, i.e Star Wars universe, or the Sonic Universe or whatever, used original characters, that did not come in contact with the actual characters of the series, and had their own story, separate from that of the actual story, i.e The story of a Rebel Pilot fighting during the Galactic Civil War, or another hedgehog or whatever the hell goes on in Sonic trying to get the Chaos Emeralds for his own purposes, then I would have no problem with it.
However many are not like this. Granted there are some exceptions, such as an alternate timeline, follow ups to what has already happened, or even using certain characters in an alternate reality, but the majority of fan fics, in my experience, are just examples of blatant retardation.
