I had the most insane urge to draw someone really poofy-dress-princessy, and you don't get much more poofy-dressed-princessy than Elincia. I drew this before the Guinevere one.You know, I have to wonder how on earth she managed to run around the entire continent in that dress, day in and day out. It just looks so impractical; imagine how filthy and gross it must have gotten by the time she switched to her armor. Unless she's a Princess Peach and has about twenty separate versions of the exact same dress and carried them with her everywhere she went.

I thought the same thing when I cosplayed her, and then I concluded she probably wore a soft petticoat.

It's the limited wardrobe rule. You either imagine they've got other clothes to wear, or Mist washes laundry obsessively, because there's no way her little yellow outfit would stay clean either, or Ike's tunic would be recognizably blue after sleeping on dirt for a week (which I'm sure he's done).

Considering that they're all mercenaries who are constantly on the move, the limited wardrobe thing does make the most sense. But I have to say that the Princess-Peach-multiple-dress idea amuses me the most.

Whoo yes. Nintendo princesses never get their dress dirty. Or any fictional princesses in general ('less it's some gory manga or anime where people get bloodied and bruised).

I'm usually not a fan of princess characters. I liked Guinevere, but Elincia...meh. I guess she had her moments, though.

I always hated Elincia, the epic female royalty for me was always Sanaki character wise and Nailah stat wise. I agreee, Guinevere was actually a good princess... which for Nintendo is a real achievement. Great picture by the way, I think the colouring is the best part, but nothing's particularly slacky

I'm working on a picture of Elincia and Mist right now, and I am having SO MUCH trouble with her damn dress. I can't draw the puffs on her shoulders.

I hate those stupid puffs - I'm trying to draw a picture of Soren in Elincia's dress and the puffs keep coming out so badly that I've had to redo it at least 3 times by now. That's the nice thing about chibi-Elincia - plain ole circles work great for them.

Ohyayza! Background! I love it. Understated, but it definitely adds a subtly enhancing effect. And I always just admire how effortlessly you manage color combinations, like the different shades of orange here and the very cool and icy deliciousness of her cascade of green hair.

Ohhh no no no, that's not me at all. The color combos, I mean. All I did was follow the canon color scheme as portrayed in her official artwork.
I actually think that her color scheme is one of the most terrible ones I've ever seen. At least it's memorable, though, and it's become iconic of her character, so I suppose it serves its purpose.
