Description
Working on a portrait of Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, two members of the Russian punk protest collective Pussy Riot. These women were famously arrested after a performance at a church in Moscow and convicted of "hooliganism motivated by religious hatred". They served 21 months in prison before being released prior to the Olympics. They have since been harassed and assaulted, but continue to advocate for prisoners' rights.Done with markers and white gel pen on toned paper. A more polished version will be coming soon....

Very nicely handled. Great composition. I commend you for your choice of portrait subjects. No Mr. Depp or Ms. Monroe...no sir. They don't need more attention, but the brave individuals you've chosen in previous works (as well as this one) do.
