Another digital drawing of my new character, that I made for The Elder Scrolls I: Arena.
The first TES game ever made by Bethesda Softworks.
This time, it is a drawing of my character after finishing The Halls of Collosus. The Fifth Main quest dungeon, where you receive another piece of the Staff of Chaos.
He is wearing a full set of Chainmail Armour and brandishing an Enchanted Dwarven Longsword of Firestorm (I added the swirly effect myself to make it obvious), along with an Enchanted Silver Buckler of Agility.
I am having fun playing it, however, the dungeons feel like they can go on forever and are needlessly convoluted. I still enjoy the atmosphere that both the music and pixel-based artwork do for the game. The story is a lot more old-school fantasy then the later games. You can tell it has that Dungeons & Dragons inspiration. I definitely recommend it, to anyone who is curious about where the Elder Scrolls games started from.
However, I would not blame you for quitting before you completed it.
You might get the hang of the game, like I have and find the gameplay loop itself easy. But the way the game is designed only makes things annoying and frustrating when you first start out. Especially the bugs...
That being said, I plan to complete the entire TES series, starting with the first game. So expect more artwork relating to it!
This piece was made using brush and fill tools from GIMP 2.8, I also took a screenshot and then copied my character's stats from the image, putting them where it would be if you accessed your stat menu or inventory in-game.
