On a deep space patrol the USS Darboshanski made contact with an unknown vessel. At first it was thought to be space debris a scan was performed to reveal it was a ship. Upon further magnification of the vessel the profile of ship fit the classification in the ship's data base as an older federation constitution class star ship. A shuttle craft was launched to investigate further. With no power to the vessel and with the darkness of deep space the shuttle crew illuminated the dark ship with the shuttle's spotlight. With the light directed onto the saucer part of the ship the name and registration number was revealed. The shuttle craft crew contacts the bridge of the Darboshanski:

"This Lt. French the vessel is in fact a old Federation Constitution class starship."

Capt. Krause: "Well Lt don't keep us in suspense what is the name and registration of the ship."

Lt. French: "USS Constellation NCC-1017."

Capt. Krause: "Impossible, this can't be."

Number one: "What is impossible Capt?"

Capt. Krause: " Brush up on your starfleet history number one you'll find the answer. Send a message to Starfleet command priority one. This Capt. Maria Krause of the USS Darboshanski we have made contact damaged Constitution class starship name and registration....(pause)... USS Constellation NCC-1017 request further instructions. Helm put a tractor beam on the Constellation to hold her from wondering off." Tactical, stay alert we have no idea who else is out there. With our shields down we are vulnerable."

Communications: "Capt. Krause, Starfleet directs you to take the Constellation in tow and rendezvous with the USS Cerritos to take charge of the Constellation."

The Darboshanski rendezvous with the Cerritos and from there the Constellation is on her way home.

The Constellation, in tow by the Cerritos, arrives at Earth Spacedock and is welcomed by an escort of shuttles, Clydesdales and a Galaxy class starship rendering honors.

Welcome back old girl what was once lost is now found you hold a place in Starfleet history.
