They are a sub-species so yeah, they came from the Estemmenosuchus

Their horns are poisonous, so a killer needs to stay away from those, but otherwise no. They can't produce poison if that's what you mean.

Well that could be two possibilities. Some animals become poisonous because they eat a certain type of food that will kill their attacker when they try to eat the prey. Other animals can create venom themselves. I think that in this case, the Nidoran family can create the venom they use to make their horns poisonous.
